An Airbnb Turnover Cleaning Checklist for Hosts
A smooth turnover is more than a quick tidy — the space needs to feel ready, consistent, and easy for the next guest. A written checklist keeps the reset focused when checkout and check-in are close together.
Start with the reset
Open curtains and windows when appropriate, remove trash, and walk through the property before cleaning. Note missing or damaged items separately so maintenance questions don't get lost in the turnover.
Strip used linens and towels first, so laundry can run while the rest of the property is cleaned and restaged.
- Replace bed linens and towels with the correct clean set.
- Reset beds, cushions, decor, and furniture to the same arrangement each visit.
- Check that guest supplies and paper goods are stocked and ready.
Kitchen and bathroom checks
In the kitchen, clean counters, the sink, stovetop, appliance exteriors, and inside the microwave. Check the refrigerator for leftover food and make sure dishes and commonly used items are clean and put away.
In the bathroom, clean the toilet, shower or tub, sink, mirror, fixtures, and floor. Watch for the details guests notice fast: hair, water spots, empty dispensers, and damp towels.
Finish with a guest-ready walkthrough
Vacuum or mop floors throughout, check entryways, and confirm lights and basic equipment are working. A final walkthrough from the guest's point of view catches a bin that needs lining, a fingerprint on glass, or an item out of place.
